The final show of the season is THE TEMPEST. Prospero, the Duke of Naples, has been banished by the King of Naples to an enchanted island where for 12 years he has raised his daughter Miranda. When the King’s son Ferdinand washes ashore after a storm, Miranda enters a new world full of love and forgiveness. Inspired by the prose version of Shakespeare’s play that was written for children in the early 19th century by scholars Charles and Mary Lamb, this new musical puts Shakespeare in terms that children can understand, appreciate and enjoy. Book by DOUG DEVITA, music by BRIAN HOBBS, directed by CARRIE LIBLING, choreograped by OVIDIO VARGAS, music direction by CHRISTOPHER TOTARO, THE TEMPEST performs Saturdays at 1pm and Sundays at 1pm and 3pm from April 3rd through May 9th.
