Our Story
Since our founding in 1999, Vital Theatre Company has been dedicated to producing entertaining and educational theatre for young audiences. From fairy tales and fables to contemporary musicals, we've presented over 100 original productions that have delighted children and families across New York City and beyond.
What started as a small theatre company has grown into one of NYC's premier destinations for children's entertainment, with long-running hits like Pinkalicious The Musical, Fancy Nancy, and numerous award-winning original works.

The Beginning
Vital Theatre Company founded with a mission to bring quality theatre to young audiences in New York City.
2003
First Major Award
The Ballad of Irving the Frog wins prestigious OOBR Award, establishing Vital as a leader in children's theatre.
2007
Pinkalicious Debuts
Pinkalicious The Musical opens at McGinn/Cazale Theatre, beginning what would become an 18-year phenomenon.
2012
Fancy Nancy Arrives
Fancy Nancy The Musical joins the repertoire, becoming another long-running family favorite.

1999-2005: The Founding Years
Our founding years established Vital Theatre as a creative force in NYC children's theatre. From fairy tales like The Selfish Giant to original works like History Time Henry, these early productions set the standard for quality family entertainment.
